There is nothing quite like the kindred spirit that fills the space when new breastfeeding moms are in each other's company. To my surprise that kinship is even possible to experience in an online venue. It has come as somewhat of a surprise to me but our ongoing online breastfeeding support group has continued with active and committed participation.

Over the last few years, we developed the additional avenue of support in an ongoing and consistent support group via zoom. Focused primarily on the joys and challenges of breastfeeding with breastfeeding questions addressed first and foremost, discussions sometimes go beyond into other parenting concerns and topics.

While face to face, in person interaction, remains superior, the online meetings have filled a need and been a positive experience for those who participate. Friendships have formed. Difficulties and successes shared. The bonds created across the internet and reaching around the globe provide comradery of mother to mother support even online.
